House Planeix

Monument in Paris

Villa-artist studio located at 24 bis and 26 bis Boulevard Masséna, in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, the house Planeix was built in the second half of the 1920s. Work of Le Corbusier and his cousin Pierre Jeanneret for the sculptor Antonin Planeix, it is now listed as a historic monument for its facades and roofs.

In the tradition of the modern movement, it was at the time the seat of the movement Abstraction-Creation. The building is crowned by a charming rooftop terrace with breathtaking views of the city and the garden. It strikes with its pure geometric lines, as well as its bow window in the middle of the facade. The Planeix house thus respects four of the five points of modern architecture given by Le Corbusier himself: the rooftop terrace, the free plan, the free facade and the blindfolded windows.
