Private Mansion Beauharnais

Monument in Paris

Located rue de Lille, in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, the mansion of Beauharnais is an early eighteenth century building named after Eugene de Beauharnais, viceroy of Italy and son-in-law of Emperor Napoleon First.

Currently residence of the German ambassador in France, it is now classified as an historic monument. Built by Germain Boffrand, it is still a jewel of the Empire style. It is possible to admire exceptional pieces such as a table playing cards Napoleon I, the office Bismarck, a piano used by Wagner during a stay at Paris, the bed of Hortense, or a room baths with walls completely covered with mirrors.
