17th century building, the mansion Amelot de Bisseuil is located in the 4th district of Paris, in the heart of the famous historic district of the Marais. Private property classified as historical monument, it takes place on the old remains of the hotel de Rieux.
It was Denis Amelot de Chaillou who decided on his total reconstruction in the first half of the 17th century. Work of Pierre Cottard, architect of Louis XIV, the mansion Amelot de Bisseuil has the distinction of having two courses. On its facades, you can admire figures of children, a semicircular arch with a bas-relief representing two fame, two winged deities.
The interior has preserved incredible pieces of wood, paintings and ceilings, some of which are listed. It is impossible not to appreciate Psyche's gallery with its painted ceiling of Apotheosis of Psyche and Psyche removed by the Zephyrs, the ceiling of the Salon de Flore, or the Italian-style room reconstituted at the end of the 20th century.
In the early 2000s, the one that served as a place for the baptism of the famous Madame de Stael, also hosted the filming of some scenes of Dangerous Liaisons Josée Dayan.
