Religious building located on the island of Saint-Louis, in the 4th arrondissement of Paris, the church of Saint-Louis-en-l'Ile was built in several stages between 1624 and 1726. Listed as the Historical Monuments, it is the one of the smallest parishes in the capital.
Dedicated to Louis IX, the church Saint-Louis-en-l'Île presents an elegant gothic style but with an Italian inspiration by combining a flat bedside with an ambulatory. In the eighteenth and nineteenth century, it saw its decoration change to reveal mainly a Baroque style.
Some of the present liturgical ornaments come from the Royal Abbey of Longchamp, and it is also possible to admire a miraculous icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help of the sixteenth century.
Religious music concerts are held throughout the year.
