Medieval building built in 1310 on the route of the current rue Saint-Lazare, in the 8th and 9th arrondissements of Paris, the castle of Porcherons then extended on a quadrilateral formed by the current streets Saint-Lazare, Cadet, Le Havre and Provence.
After the French Revolution, at the end of the 18th century, the castle was abandoned before being completely razed by Haussmann works. From this immense building, there remains today only the fountain at the end of the avenue.
