Located in the heart of Calvados, on the banks of the English Channel, the Ouistreham lighthouse was built at the start of the 20th century and was automated in the 1990s. At 38 meters high, it serves as a guardian for the estuary of the Orne with a visibility of sixteen nautical miles around.
Visitors will be able to climb the 171 blue granite steps of the tower to reach the top and enjoy a breathtaking 360 ° view of the city, the Pointe du Siege nature reserve or the Ouistreham-Riva Bella beach. It is also possible to discover the famous Fresnel lens, an instrument allowing the lighthouse to reflect its own light beams.
