Located at Niort, in Deux-Sèvres, the Bernard d'Agesci museum was opened in the mid-2000s in a former high school for young girls at the end of the 19th century. Labeled Museum of France, it presents on nearly 5000 m², an art and decorative arts fund, as well as the collections of the former natural history museum and the education conservatory.
Visitors can admire there paintings, sculptures, but also ornithological or geological collections or school objects and furniture and other school maps and films retracing a century and a half of education.
The Bernard d'Agesci museum also houses a conference room, a research library and spaces for regularly organized thematic temporary exhibitions.
Guided tours, activities for the youngest or educational workshops are also offered.
