Nieul is located in the department of Haute-Vienne, in the canton of Couzeix. It takes place about ten kilometers from Limoges, near the Glane, a local river.
The name of the town is of Gallic origin and consists of terms novio, new, and ialo, clearing. Pleasantly situated to appreciate the charms of the region, Nieul also has advantages of its own, like its castle and its park.
