Located in the heart of the Old Town of Nancy, in Meurthe-et-Moselle, the Saint-Epvre basilica was erected in the 19th century on the remains of a first 14th century church. Work of Prosper Morey, architect awarded the Prix de Rome, it reveals an elegant neo-Gothic style.
Blessed in March 1871, it was embellished five months later with an arrow on the transept. In the midst of conventional architecture, visitors will be seduced by the dozens of stained glass windows made in Austria, as well as the woodwork from Bavaria. In addition, there are magnificent altars from the end of the 19th century, like the one dedicated to Our Lady of Perpetual Help. The latter was offered by Emperor Franz Joseph and his wife, Sissi.
The building is now classified as a Historic Monument.
