City Mourmelon-le-Grand takes place in the department of Marne. One that houses one of the largest military camps in the country, is located in the district of Chalons-en-Champagne, about thirty kilometers from Reims.

With four flowers awarded to the contest flowered Towns of France, the city enjoys a pleasant and peaceful. Mourmelon-le-Grand is best known for his camp, created in 1856 by Napoleon III. The latter had the honor to host a large number of heads of state such as the Tsar Nicolas II, General de Gaulle or the former King of Spain Alfonso XIII.

In addition to his military camp, which is not open, the city of Mourmelon-le-Grand hosts some interesting monuments.

Military Cemetery, the national necropolis Mourmelon-le-Grand was created between 1919 and 1923, making the Champagne suites battles. One can discover notably the graves of more than 2600 French soldiers and three ossuaries soldiers grouping remains killed in the First World War. It is also possible to discover a monument to different divisions and other military brigades.

Rebuilt under the Second Empire, the St. Lawrence church amazes with its bell tower covered with tiles.
