Mooslargue is a small town located in the Haut-Rhin in Alsace. This is a very recent common since it is only since 1975 Mooslargue exists. The creation of this city was born from the merger of two distinct entities: the city of Moos and the city of Niederlarg. During World War II, Moos was the limit on which the French army was positioned before the start of the Battle of Alsace. From that time, the city was considered Moos as the starting point or the kilometer zero of the Western Front.

Things to see and do

Small town of just over 450 inhabitants on about 5 square kilometers, the city of Mooslargue is located near the Jura, near a beautiful communal forest. During your visit to Mooslargue, seduced by a pleasant walk in the forest. It covers more than 157 hectares, straddling two valleys, that of the Largue and that of Grumbach. You will discover when you walk different tree species, ages and sizes, but especially pine, beech, oak, ash, hornbeam, etc. But beware, the forest is an essential element of the common Mooslargue, she is very busy especially at the opening of hunting. Respect so well the safety instructions. Indeed, at the time of the hunting season, battered are regularly organized to hunt wild boar pepper this communal forest Mooslargue.

Hot spot to visit during your stay in Mooslargue, kilometer zero. At the starting point of the front line during the First World War, you can stroll and discover the remains of three fronts: the French, German and Swiss. The marked trail stretches about 7.5 km.

Events and festivities

Every year in the middle of May, a great popular march is organized by the association to Mooslargue Devils Mooslargue. Hiking from easy open to all and takes all day. The opportunity to discover the landscape and become acquainted with the friendly inhabitants of the municipality. Departure is from the communal hall.

Close to Altkirch or Mulhouse, enjoy your visit to Mooslargue to discover the charming surrounding Alsatian towns. In Mulhouse, you can for example every second Saturday of September visit to the international fair old toys that stands the exhibition center of the city.
