Montrevel-en-Bresse

If the city of Montrevel-en-Bresse is quite small, it does not have one unless some beautiful monuments testifying to the rich history of the site.

Registered with the additional inventory of historic monuments, the manor of the House is a beautiful two-storey building and timber frame. Built around the late fifteenth century, it is one of the last examples of such land and buildings of typical local wood. Farms with Saracen chimney, this is the most original habitat of the Bresse region.

Classified as an historic monument, the farm of Sougey is one of the oldest farms Saracen chimney Bresse. It consists of four buildings still in good condition, a main building, two farm buildings, an oven, a barn, a stable and a pigsty. Located in the heart of the grove, the farm covers no less than 35 hectares and can admire more than 200 hundred years old oaks. It is open all year to visitors, allowing to learn a little more about the peasant lifestyle of yesteryear in Bresse.

City Montrevel-en-Bresse also has a beautiful church of the nineteenth century, and a stele Americans.

Montrevel-en-Bresse cultivates its traditions for centuries, particularly through cultural events of great interest.

Montrevel-en-Bresse hosts a weekly traditional market on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 8 am to 13h. In July and August, the city has a night market flavors with producers and productions of local artisans with animations and tastings. A Christmas market is also proposed in December.

Stage fright dough festival is dedicated to children and adults in June. Shows, storytelling, exhibitions, concerts and events are offered.

From late July to early August, Montrevel-en-Bresse and cities involved in the theater festival organization on a tray. Several theaters and shows are available for ten days with talented artists.

The leisure offers the festival hot time in July with various concerts. In August, the base also offers medieval days.

Traditionally held in December, the Glorious Bresse is a competition that takes place Montrevel-en-Bresse and to Bourg-en-Bresse and Pont-de-Vaux. It aims to distinguish and classify Bresse poultry.
