Located at 1000 meters of altitude, Montregard extends on a hilly plateau of more than 4000 hectares covered with meadows and splendid forests.
Formerly named Saint John of Pailhec, the village owes its name to the castle "Castrum de Monte-Regard".
During many stays, St Regis saved the village from the plague and converted Louise de Romezin to Catholicism whose son became Mayor in 1693.
The town hall is built with the stones of the old castle.
A little more than 600 inhabitants live on the commune and work of agriculture, breeding and logging. Two areas of activity, artisanal and industrial, bring many jobs.
The "Little Inn" and the Monterymard restaurant allow you to eat and several cottages welcome you for your nights.
Since June 2014, the town is renting its new multi-activity room for your receptions, weddings or birthdays (information in town hall).
Many associations make this small village a place where life is good.
