Montpezat-de-Quercy is located in the Midi-Pyrénées region in the department of Tarn-et-Garonne, on the edge of Lot, 35 km from Montauban and 27 km from Cahors.

Not far from the old castle where stayed for centuries, the powerful lords of the family of Montpezat then the family Des Prés; amid chestnut trees and Judas trees, the mighty college built by Cardinal Pierre Des Prés (1288-1361), attracts thousands of visitors.

Des Prés family also gave bishops in Montauban, the Protestant and a marshal of France; others have marked the history of Montpezat, white.

Agriculture (fruit, wine, livestock) remains the mainstay of the municipal economy. A small industry, few companies and a varied commercial fabric, are revitalizing the local economy.
