Small village of Aveyron, 950 meters above sea level, Montpeyroux takes place on the Aubrac plateau, equidistant from Toulouse, Montpellier and Clermont-Ferrand. It is located not far from Laguiole and Estaing, about fifty kilometers from Rodez.
Populated since the Neolithic, as evidenced by traces of human occupation found on the spot, the territory of Montpeyroux was occupied by oppidums in the Gallo-Roman era. The village developed quietly in the Middle Ages, before being occupied by the English during the infamous Hundred Years War.
Always full of charm, this small very extensive commune still unveils today an interesting architectural and historical inheritance, as well as preserved and appreciated landscapes of the amateurs of nature and life in the open air.
