Village of Aveyron, in the heart of Rougier de Camarès, Montlaur is located on the banks of Grauzou and Riaudou, not far from Gissac, Saint-Affrique or Camarès.

Of very ancient origin, the town of Montlaur has distinguished itself since the 19th century with its canal. Used for 140 years, over this period it provided the water necessary for the crops of farmers and gardeners in the region. Today, it is a popular place for walks.

Focused on agriculture, Montlaur also has an interesting historical and architectural heritage.

Things to see and do

Passing through the town of Montlaur, don't forget to admire the Saint-Martin church and the Saint-André de Briols church. Several statue-menhirs are also visible at Mas d'Azaïs and Mas de Saumecourt.

Marked hiking trails are also accessible, particularly to discover the Rougier valley.

Events and festivities

In June, the Midsummer bonfires take place.

A country market is organized in August.

The Montlaur party takes place at the beginning of July with pétanque competitions, balls and even lively aperitifs.

A musical evening is organized every first weekend of August by the Les Iousses association.

In November, the festival committee offers its famous autumn ball.
