Listed as a Historic Monument, the Château de la Haute-Touche, at Ploërmel, was originally the property of the Bérard family. Remodeled many times, it was completely rebuilt in the second half of the 18th century, retaining however the original 16th century manor house which serves as outbuildings.
Plundered by Republican troops at the end of the 18th century, the Château de la Haute-Touche was remodeled at the start of the 20th century by the architect Frédéric-Auguste Jobbé-Duval. In particular, he added the entrance gate, the moat or the garden. A new chapel is also built on the occasion.
Composed of a raised ground floor, a square floor and attics, the main building reveals in particular a beautiful horseshoe staircase with one flight of steps as well as beautiful 17th century paneling decorated with flowers and music trophies.
