Oise, in the Hauts-de-France region, Montataire takes place about forty kilometers from Beauvais, not far from Creil and Nogent-sur-Oise. Tenth city of the department in terms of inhabitants, it enjoys an interesting proximity with Paris, located at about fifty kilometers.
Populated since the Mesolithic, Montataire becomes a village in its own right in the eleventh century with the construction of a castle and a church by Hugues de Clermont. Stronghold of the peasant revolt of Jacques, in the fourteenth century, the town was long turned to agriculture and livestock before industrializing in the nineteenth century with the construction of factories buttons, hooves, socks or even of corsets.
Always appreciated by tourists, the city of Montataire still reveals today a charming architectural and historical heritage in a very good state of conservation.
