Chartreuse (1598-1792) : At the gates of the valley of the weevil, Molsheim was a possession of the bishops of Strasbourg since the Middle Ages. The city had its heyday in the aftermath of the Reformation, with the arrival of various religious orders : the Jesuits in 1580 and the Carthusians in 1598 They had built a convent, Chartreuse de Molsheim, within the. city. The monastery was largely destroyed during the Revolution. However, remnants of the foundations of the church of the Carthusians have been unearthed in the present garden of the Priory. Similarly, cells with their furnishings have been restored and most of the cloister. The renovation, done by a team of volunteers and with the help of the city, are still continuing today.

The Chartreuse Museum : Founded in 1946 by Dr. Henry Gerlinger, Molsheim Museum is a museum of Archaeology, Art and History. Open the Chartreuse since 1985, the museum was enriched by numerous donations and purchases. It includes witness the daily life of Molsheim over the centuries.

Bugatti Foundation: Bugatti- Molsheim, this pair of inseparable names symbolize an entire era of the automobile. For thirty years from 1909, Ettore Bugatti and later his son Jean in Molsheim have created a unique car category by both the mechanical design by the aesthetics of their body. The memory of countless racing victories of their cars, rail and maritime achievements is returned in the Chartreuse where the Bugatti Foundation has striven to show the quintessential cult to Bugatti.

The Chartreuse Museum is open from May to October, from Sunday to Monday from 14h to 17h (closed Tuesdays).
