The manor of Sautet is located in the town of Molières, in the Dordogne, 21 km northwest of Monpazier.
Located to the south of the village (in this case an old bastide), it is in fact a chartreuse, that is to say, in the Périgord, a mansion located in the countryside, generally composed of a long body of building of one or two levels, covered with sloping roofs.
In the present case, in the 17th century, a hunting lodge belonging to the Cugnac family was first erected, which only really became a charterhouse in the 18th century with the development of pavilions at the ends. On the facade, there are three large low-arched French windows that occupy the height of the building. The attic is lit by oval skylights framed by curves supporting a circular pediment. A terrace, which is accessed by a staircase, extends across the front of the house, between the pavilions.
The whole is decorated with a few sculpted elements.
The estate includes neat exteriors with a vegetable garden, orchard and arboretum.
The manor of Sautet is still private, and it is listed in the Inventory. The park is open to the public from July to September and all year round, by reservation, for groups. Price: 5 euros. Information on +33 5 53 61 12 40.
