Located at 1 rue des Trinitaires in Metz, in Moselle, the Saint-Livier mansion is the oldest civil building in the city. Listed as an historic monument, it was erected in the 12th century on the site of the birthplace of Saint Livier, according to legend. Of Italian influence, its architecture notably features a high dungeon tower, a low roof or a crenellated screen wall which served as a walkway.
The one who notably welcomed Charles V in the 16th century underwent a major restoration in the 1980s before becoming the headquarters of the FRAC de Lorraine in the early 2000s.
