Museum of art and history of Melun:
Established in 1860, the museum is the oldest cultural equipment Melun. It is dedicated to the historical and artistic heritage of the city. It features paintings and sculptures related to the history of the city since antiquity, art collections including works by Henri Chapu, 1833-1891, Prix de Rome, masterpieces such as bronze 16th century Barthelemy Prieur, still lifes of the 17th century Van Hulsdonck and landscapes of 19th century paintings of the forest of Fontainebleau Armand Cassagne (1823-1907).
A renewal of permanent displays, temporary exhibitions, guided tours and lectures are regularly organized.
