The date of the founding of the priory of Meillerie remains unknown. However, its existence is attested in 1133. It was founded by the Canons Regular of St. Augustine, which are progressively attached to the Order of the Grand Saint-Bernard. From the 1220s, the priory was completely rebuilt to become the residence of Grand Marshals of St. Bernard, the administrative center of the Order, but also an important place of production (wood, cheese, wine). The construction is based largely on the construction of medieval castles chapel, cellars, great room, bedroom, but also defense tower and walls of speakers. The priory was suppressed in 1752. Although part of the house was destroyed in the 1830s, and the chapel was enlarged by a nave of many medieval elements are preserved. The Priory also offers a wonderful view of Lake Geneva and Vaud neighbor.
