The Archaeological Museum of Martres-Tolosane, 60 km south-west of Toulouse, is housed in the old keep (XIII) from the historic heart of the city.
His collection consists of originals or reproductions of sculptures (including busts) that were unearthed at the site of the Gallo-Roman villa Chiragan, which was located along the Garonne. Some originals are kept on hand at the museum Saint-Raymond of Toulouse.
A Martres-Tolosane are presented including replica busts of Julius Caesar, Augustus, Trajan, Marcus Aurelius, Septimius Severus, but also fragments of marble and mosaics.
Opened in July and August (the rest of the year on reservation). Free entry.
Another part of the museum collection is also visible to the Heritage Interpretation Center Angonia including ancient pottery and modern dating from the eighteenth century to the present, made by local craftsmen.
