Things to see and do

Notre-Dame-de-Sanilhac has an interesting heritage through the Notre-Dame-des-Vertus church of the nineteenth century, the manor of Pouzelande, a former 16th century hideout rebuilt in the nineteenth, or the manor of Sanilhac. The latter is a former convent built in the late eighteenth century and now converted into guest rooms.

Do not miss to admire the church of Saint-Gilles de Marsaneix built in the late nineteenth century in an elegant neo-Romanesque style.

At Breuilh, a stele was erected in memory of the six Resistance members of the Mercédès group executed here. During the Second World War, Mondignéras Castle housed senior Resistance officials, as well as part of the Prefecture's archives. General de Gaulle went there in 1949 during a pilgrimage in the area. In the town, you can also admire the church partly Romanesque.

Events and festivities

Between June and September, the town offers a farmer's market on Sunday morning. Night markets are offered on the first Wednesdays in July and August.

In May, place the animations of the party of the donkey Marsaneix.

The fires of St. John are organized on June 24.

On the Sunday closest to June 24, the town offers a 10-kilometer pedestrian race.

The votive festival of Marsaneix is organized the first weekend after the Saint-Gilles, in September, including a flea market.

Sanilh'art takes place in autumn at Notre-Dame-de-Sanilhac with exhibitions of drawings, paintings or photographs.

A salon of all collections is held at Notre-Dame-de-Sanilhac in November.
