Rural municipality of Val-d'Oise, in the Île-de-France region, Marines belongs to the Community of Communes Vexin Center and is part of the Regional Natural Park of French Vexin. It is located about fifteen kilometers from Cergy, not far from Cormeilles-en-Vexin, Santeuil and Brignancourt.
Occupied since prehistoric times, the territory of Marines did not begin to develop until the early Middle Ages. Originally a simple little village in the shadow of its neighbor, Chars, the town became a very powerful seigneury during the late Middle Ages. High place of commerce, it is today a place of tourism appreciated by passing visitors.
Its authentic charm and its proximity to Paris and its monuments make it a unique holiday destination at the gates of Normandy.
