Town in Seine-Maritime, Normandy, Maniquerville is located near Fecamp, near the coast of the Channel. This charming little village takes place about ten kilometers from Etretat and thirty kilometers from Le Havre.

This agglomeration of modest size is born from the Gallo-Roman era, as the Menettii-Villa. Marked for over fifteen centuries by the dynasty of Thiboutot, village Maniquerville still has some vestiges of this glorious era. typical site of the Caux country, it has a beautiful Norman architecture.

Visitors will enjoy its natural charm and the surrounding landscape, conducive to walking and mountain biking. History buffs will also discover vestiges testifying the glorious past of Maniquerville at the time of Thiboutot.

Things to see and do

Farming village, Maniquerville however has some beautiful monuments such as the castle, now converted into a hotel, and a feudal mound. The latter reveals some remains behind the church.

The Church of St. Martin chapel formerly served at the castle of Thiboutot. Consisting of a single-span nave, it still reveals some remains of the original building of the eleventh century, as the front gable, the Romanesque door or the first part of the nave. Inside, one can admire two beautiful polychrome statues of the fifteenth century and a Christ in the same time. Tours are available on request.

The castle park is still available today and allows for some lovely walks or picnics with the family.

In an old farm of the nineteenth century, a charming museum offers travel back in time with different collections. horse pull, flax cultivation, wheat or beet, and woodworking and milk are well in the program. The site also presents an exhibition of advertising enamel plates on agriculture. The museum has more than 1,300 rooms.

The snail farm offers tours of an hour to learn a little more about this farm a little special and its history.

Events and festivities

In May, the village offers its famous hiking du Muguet.
