Mametz is the result of the regrouping of three communes Mametz, Crecques and Marthes in 1822 by order of the King. It is known by the name of "the commune with three steeples" because it still has its three churches.
Located in Pas-de-Calais, the commune of Mametz is crossed by the River Lys, a tributary of the Scheldt. It is a commune of about 2 000 inhabitants, located near Aire-sur-la-Lys and Saint-Omer. It is close to the great beaches of the North Sea which are about sixty kilometers.
Its main assets are:
Hiking along the banks of the Lys, around the ponds and all the wooded areas of the village.
The river Lys, with trout fishing for 7 km.
The Etiais pond and the Sauvagine pond (site of 11 hectares) which allow to fish all types of white fish (carnivores, carp, etc).
The commune has all the necessary shops and services, three campsites, as well as a fabric of medical professions very fleshed.
