House Thomassin

Monument in Lyon

Built in the 13th century for the counts of Feurs, Maison Thomassin is one of the oldest houses in Lyon. Located at 2 place du Change, it unveils a beautiful 15th century Gothic facade with the coats of arms of the Dauphin, King Charles VIII and Duchess Anne of Brittany. Inside, it is possible to discover a painted ceiling from the 13th century with the arms of Saint Louis and Blanche of Castile. Classified as an historic monument, it is one of the oldest painted ceilings in France.

Maison Thomassin has benefited from numerous restoration campaigns over the centuries, revealing testimonies from different construction eras, from the 13th to the 15th and from the 17th to the 20th century.
