Located at Lyon, at 42 bis, Montée Saint-Barthélémy, the house of La Bréda takes place in the heart of the Jardin du Rosaire, at the foot of the Fourvière basilica. Also called Maison de Lorette or Maison de Pauline Jaricot, this old farmhouse was built in the 16th century. Enlarged and enhanced in the 18th century, it became the property of Pauline Jaricot in the 19th century.
Founder of the work of the propagation of the Faith, the latter had the chapel of St. Philomena built in the gardens in recognition of her healing on the saint's tomb, during a trip to Italy.
Listed in the supplementary inventory of Historical Monuments, the house of La Bréda unveils in its interior very beautiful 18th century wall paintings entirely restored, as well as traces of 16th century decor. A place of memory, prayer and mission, the site offers a breathtaking view of Lyon and its surroundings.
