Founded at the beginning of the 19th century in Lons-le-Saunier, the Musée du Jura is an archaeological museum also offering paleontological and mineralogical collections. The site proposes to illustrate more than 400 million years of Jura history, from the formation of its massifs to human activities.
On the program of places, objects from archaeological excavations carried out nearby or private donations, such as natural history collections, samples of rocks or minerals, as well as the oldest dinosaur currently known in France dating from - 210 million years.
Temporary thematic exhibitions are also regularly offered each year.
