Locarn

Tourism, holidays & weekends guide in the Côtes-d'Armor

Charming little village of Côtes-d'Armor, Locarn takes place between Guingamp and Carhaix-Plouguer. It is located not far from Trébrivan, Saint-Nicodeme and Carnoët, in the moors.

Originally associated with the truce of Quelen, the commune of Locarn has developed over the centuries, in particular thanks to the influence of the lords of Quelen. Long known for its slate quarry which closed between the wars, it now attracts passing tourists.

Sea, countryside, architectural heritage, the small Breton village has a large number of assets that make it so charming!

Things to see and do

Listed as a Historic Monument, the Saint-Hernin church originally housed the treasure of Locarn now presented at the heritage house. With typical Breton architecture, it also has a cemetery cross listed as a Historic Monument.

While strolling through Locarn, don't miss to admire the Notre-Dame-des-Fleurs chapel. It reveals reused 14th century fenestration, as well as an altar table made from a dolmen.

The heritage house of Locarn, known to house the treasure of Locarn, also unveils a very interesting exhibition on slate quarries.

But it is also for its natural heritage that Locarn is appreciated by visitors. During walks in the sun, it is possible to admire the menhir of Paotr Saout or the Corong gorges. The Landes natural site of Locarn is also not lacking in attractions with its hiking trails accessible on foot or by bike.
