Pastry company based in the heart of Lille in 1761, the House Meert is installed at 27 of the Esquermoise street, in the neighborhood of Old Lille. It takes place in a store created in 1839 by Charles Benvignat and now a historic monument, including its beautiful frontage.
Renowned for its specialty sweets and pastries typical of the Lille region as filled waffles, for example, the House Meert is one of the more old pastries activities in the world and has been awarded over the years numerous awards national and international including its flagship product, the filled waffle Lille vanilla from Madagascar.
Charming, home reveals a flamboyant style reminiscent of oriental styles with such an abundance of gilding, coffered ceilings or wrought iron balconies. Precious wood, marble and copper have a great share in the building and visitors are attracted by the Mannerist inspiration entrance gate. Inside, visitors will discover the gourmet candy shop, fresh pastries shop or a tea room and a gourmet restaurant renowned.
