Former church of Vieux-Lille, in the North, the Saint-Pierre collegiate church has punctuated the religious life of the metropolis for more than seven centuries. Built in the 11th century, it underwent numerous modifications until the 16th century, before being heavily damaged by Austrian troops in 1792.
Completely destroyed in 1794, however, it still unveils a very beautiful crypt classified as an historic monument. Gothic in style, it was discovered by chance during the construction site of the new courthouse in the 1960s. Its remains are now imprisoned in the concrete construction and can only be discovered during Heritage Days.
