Leucate is a real common plural, the displayed singularity. It is the gateway to the Regional Natural Park of Narbonne in the Mediterranean.
This former island became peninsula today is still the center of a marine environment, nestled between its 16 km of Mediterranean coastline and 31 km from Pond shorelines, channels, islands and basins Harbor. Leucate consists of five distinct urban entities between which extend three large protected natural areas, of great interest.
Activities close to nature which are the main resources of the town:
Viticulture, almost a century of tradition. Grapes, sun, soil, three major ingredients to create exceptional products.
Fishing and oyster farming, tradition again, if the first is experiencing some difficulties, shellfish are booming, and many healthy eaters who pay homage to the leucatoise oyster.
Olives, almonds and honey production is just enough to feed the hungry Leucatois and their tourist friends.
