The Les Rousses Ski Resort is located in the Jura department, in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region. It notably brings together the municipalities of Rousses, Bois-d'Amont, Lamoura, and Prémanon. Its ski area extends onto the Swiss border, into the canton of Vaud.
The first French ski resort to have obtained the Flocon Vert label, a quality label guaranteeing the sustainable commitment of mountain tourist destinations, the Station des Rousses offers its visitors preserved landscapes and the charm of authentic nature. The ski area has around fifty kilometers of family-level slopes, extending from 1090 to 1678 meters above sea level. The Station des Rousses also has one of the most important Nordic ski areas in the country, with 170 kilometers of slopes.
The Jura sur Léman alpine ski area is a shared area of the resort of Les Rousses and the Swiss region of Nyon. This Franco-Swiss ski area offers products and services that will satisfy demanding skiers such as beginners, families or simple contemplatives looking for preserved natural spaces or exceptional views. Made up of the Dôle, Tuffes, Serra and Noirmont massifs, Jura sur Léman is positioned as the largest cross-border ski area in the Jura Arc.
Apart from skiing, several other activities can be practiced, such as skijoering (skiing pulled by horses) or tobogganing. The resort has several wellness and relaxation centers, as well as an ice rink at the Espace des Mondes Polaires in Prémanon. In the villages, you can discover the local culture through the Boissellerie, Lapidaires, or ski and Rousselande tradition museums.
Also open in summer, the Station des Rousses allows this season for hiking, swimming and boating at the Rousses and Lamoura lakes, or an adventure course. Cheese lovers will be able to taste some excellent specimens in the various maturing cellars in the region which produce the local specialty, Comté.
