The town was very famous for its meat shipped it to Paris and Le Havre where there were many Britons, this before the war 39-40.
Since 1954, forgiveness of the Seven Saints, Old Market, is a meeting Islamo-Christian initiated by Louis Massignon. The famous orientalist had converted to Catholicism in 1962 and wanted to promote trade between the two religions.
