Things to see and do

While strolling in the commune, you will be able to admire the Sainte-Marthe church of the 19th century in Bas-Vernet or the Saint-Martin church of the same time in Haut-Vernet.

Former parish church, the chapel Saint-Pancrace is located above the High Vernet, and was completely ruined by the wars of religion. It has been partly renovated in the 20th century. Do not miss to admire the Saint-Roch oratory or the bread oven of Haut-Vernet.

To enjoy sunny days, head to the Demontzey Park which benefits from the Haute Provence Geopark and nature reserve labels. On site, it is possible to discover a large number of species of rare trees as well as picnic tables. Installed below the Col du Labouret, it takes its name from its creator, an engineer of Water and Forests who had set out to reforest the Alps from the south to the nineteenth century.

Le Vernet also has several marked hiking and biking trails, and an outdoor swimming pool.
