Charming small town in the Ardèche department, Le Pouzin is located on the banks of the Rhone in the Ouvèze valley. The village is also wedged between the limestone plateaus of the Grads and the riverfront. Le Pouzin is in a region called the Middle Vivarais. The town has a rich industrial history with an important agriculture thanks to the fertile soil on which the city is built. Inhabited since prehistoric times, the village was located at a strategic axis. A cave, the cave of Payre, has also been inhabited by Neanderthals. It is still its strategic location which makes it an important town in Roman times and the Middle Ages and even in the early twentieth century.
