Things to see and do

Originally owned by Alexandre Dumas, French author famous, Monte Cristo castle reveals a beautiful Renaissance-inspired architecture, the heart of an English park where nest caves and waterfalls. Built in the mid-eighteenth century, it is now the subject of a classification as historical building and opens its doors to the public. The main building has facades with floral decorations and musical instruments, and medallions of great authors on the windows of the ground floor. Inside, it is possible to discover the rooms frequented by Dumas, like the popular Moorish living room, not far away, you can visit the Chateau d'If, writing office of the author of Three musketeers. Gothic Revival, this small building takes place in the park on an island.

Built in the second half of the eighteenth century, the Church of St. Louis is a fine example of neoclassical architecture. Offered by King Louis XVI to the city, it now hosts Masses conducted by the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, a traditionalist movement of the Catholic Church.

Since the early 1970s, the town hall took place in the castle of the Lions, the former home of the Lords of Prunay rebuilt in the early nineteenth century. Its interior has a wedding hall classified historic monument for its painted decorations of the seventeenth century and a ceiling made by Michel Dorigny for the castle of Colombes and transferred up to the nineteenth century.

To enjoy sunny days, head for the Island Park Lodge, accessible on foot or bike via a bridge. The site offers six hectares of greenery dedicated to leisure and relaxation.
