Le Ménil is located in the Vosges department in Lorraine region. Its inhabitants are called Guédons.
The town is nestled between the valleys of the Moselle and Moselotte where the neck of the Menil - or neck of Fenesses - ( 621 m) allows easy passage between the Thillot and Cornimont. The surrounding mountains offer superb views as the orientation of the head and the Champs Grande Roche table. Climax: Upper Red Grass ( 1108 m).
The village has long been a hamlet attached to ban Ramonchamp which belonged to the great provost of the chapter of Remiremont. However, from 1733 Le Ménil has its own administration. The church was built between 1733 and 1735 and remains Annex Ramonchamp. Le Ménil became independent in 1735, becoming a parish then obtains the status of town during the Revolution.
