Located in Le Mans, the Scarron house was built in the 12th century. Modified in the 16th century, the house which was the home of the writer Paul Scarron, first husband of the no less famous Madame de Maintenon, is now listed as a Historic Monument.
Scarron's house is located on Place Saint-Michel, known for its many remarkable buildings, including the grand Palais du Grabatoire and the 16th century Maison Saint-Paul.
