Le Beausset

Provencal town with ancient origins, Le Beausset reveals its charms all year to visitors.

The old Beausset is certainly the main attraction of the town of Beausset. The oldest part of the city, it includes a beautiful Romanesque chapel dating from the twelfth century. Today, it is an important place of pilgrimage regional, because according to tradition, the place would have the power to cure disease or to protect accidents. Inside the chapel, a hundred of votive offerings demonstrates a naive and folk art.

The house of the doll shows fans a beautiful collection of porcelain dolls nicely staged. Note that the site is also known for its antique dolls restaurateurs.

Several oratories, small religious buildings dedicated to a particular saint, line the streets of Beausset. a hundred is considered in effect along the ancient paths. The path of the Oratories allows admire the starting Beausset to the Old Beausset chapel.

In its time, the house Dalmas hosted Napoleon Bonaparte when the latter was still a mere captain, during the siege of Toulon.

You can still see in the street of the Republic, former Board seat. This particular hotel was hosting indeed the offices of the Republican administration between 1793 and 1795.

Le Beausset Provençal market is held every Friday and Sunday morning. A Christmas market also takes place in mid-December.

Every first weekend in July, up to Saint-Eloi. The event will include a Mass in Provençal, a procession in traditional costumes, folk dances or a ball and aioli.
