Laxou

Former city mansion, the current town hall dates from the mid-nineteenth century. Once school, the site has a beautiful landscaped garden. While strolling in the town, you will also appreciate the porterie of the hospital of Maréville of the eighteenth century, the place of Jet-d'Eau of the mid-nineteenth century, or the Jewish cemetery. The latter dates from the end of the thirteenth century and was destroyed during the Battle of Nancy at the end of the fifteenth century, when Rene II expelled the Jews of the Duchy of Lorraine on the pretext that they had traded with the Burgundians.

Built in 1877, the Saint-Genès church stands on the remains of an old 15th-century building. In the town, one can also discover the churches Saint-Jean-Baptiste, Saint-Paul and Saint-Roch.

Green, the city of Laxou has several natural areas to discover for a walk or outdoor activities, like the forest of Haye with its hiking trails or the leisure park of Champ-de-Boeuf with its attractions for the youngest. The city also has more than ten kilometers of trails and orchards to discover.

At the beginning of March, place at 3rd Stop at Laxou, a carnival rich in musical and festive entertainment.

In August, the Sauvage festival offers entertainment, games, live shows and an open air cinema.

In September, La Campagne à la Ville invites visitors to discover a mini farm, demonstration workshops for making butter or flour, old games, a craft market...

Saint Nicolas is celebrated every year at the beginning of December.
