Town news of Dordogne, in region Aquitaine New, Eyraud-Crempse-Maurens takes place sixty kilometers of Perigueux, near Queyssac, Bergerac or Saint-Jean-d'Estissac. She was born on January 1, 2019 from the merger of Laveyssière Maurens, Saint-Jean-d'Eyraud and Saint-Julien-de-Crempse.

Long mainly agricultural, the territory of Eyraud-Crempse-Maurens belonged to the Middle Ages to the town of Bergerac. It was later shown in the Second World War, including the capture in 1944 of Charles Plato Admiral member of the Vichy government by the FFI in Saint-Jean-d'Eyraud. Saint-Julien-de-Crempse was also awarded the Croix de Guerre 1939-1945.

Today, the new common Eyraud-Crempse-Maurens continues to attract visitors with its natural beauty as much as its rich architectural and historical heritage. It also has an ideal location for exploring the most beautiful sites of Périgord.

Things to see and do

Built in the twelfth century, St. John the Baptist Church of Saint-Jean-d'Eyraud present a newer nave nineteenth. Romanesque style, the building is now listed historic monument, including its stained-glass window of Mary trampling a serpent overcame the Immaculate Heart or one representing St. Anne.

Originally built in the early fourteenth century church of Saint-Julien Saint-Julien-de-Crempse was largely renovated in the eighteenth. It was extended at the time by a sacristy and rectory. Today converted hotel in the Grand Manor Vineyard dates from the sixteenth century.

Crossing Laveyssière, do not forget to admire the Church of Our Lady of the eighteenth century, the chapel of Our Lady of the Nativity known for its beautiful statue of the Virgin and its miraculous fountain, or the former coaching inn and mill Pas de l'Eyraud.

Full of charm, the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption Maurens has a beautiful stained glass window depicting the Archangel Michael slaying the dragon directed by Pierre Gustave DAGRANT. The town also has a monastery rebuilt in the nineteenth.
