Rich in history, the city formerly known Lattara, has many vestiges of its Gallic and Roman eras that allow to learn a little more about the past of the region. Installed on a protected natural site, Lattes is also a paradise for lovers of hiking, thanks to the presence of different paths of discovery of the fauna and flora, and Hiking tours, mountain bike or on horseback. The port is also one of the major tourist attractions of the city of Lattes with many animations.

Cultural, architectural and natural heritage, the city of Lattes no shortage of attractions to entice visitors evil splendor.

Very interesting, the Archaeological Museum Henri Prades to discover collections of objects found on the Gallic port site Lattara. Every year, temporary exhibitions are held in the center not far from excavation sites. These can also be visited in summer. The museum is named after the archaeologist who was at the origin of the first excavations on the site in the course of 1960 Inaugurated in 1986, the Archaeological Museum of Lattes has been awarded the Musée de France in 2002. Note all particularly glass, which is one of the highlights of the museum, with objects dating from the late first century BC to first century AD

In the heart of Port Ariane, the marina is one of the nicest places of Lattes. cafes and restaurant terraces stand here and animate the site throughout the year. Not far away, one can admire the mas Encivade, venue of an important theater festival.

Listed building, the St. Lawrence church is an absolute must when visiting Lattes. Romanesque style, it was built in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries and has a nave rebuilt in the seventeenth century. Tiled and built in stone, it is one of the finest examples of using the opus monspelliensis, a particular type of siding.

Mejean Nature Reserve, south of the city of Lattes welcomes a house of nature offering various tours in the surrounding nature. A very well done course, accessible only allows to observe migratory birds in the best conditions. Along the ponds, you will find all the biological balance protected meeting with animals and clean birds in these swamps courses. The house of nature you will discover the stork nests in height, which have settled in the year in this space.

Events and festivities

Lattes offers several events throughout the year to animate its streets and its town center.

A food market is held throughout the year on the place Jacques Aragon, Sunday morning from 8am to 13h. From mid-June to late August, the city also offers a night market on Tuesday, from 19h to 23h, with the presence of different artisans of the region.

The comedy festival Three shots Lattes invade the city in early July. The program includes various comedy shows and other entertaining plays.

Each October, Lattes Corsica offers its Film Festival. On this occasion, meetings with the public and film screenings are offered. Corsican polyphonic singing demonstrations are also organized to discover the Corsican culture.
