Located at the exit of Lassay-les-Châteaux, in Mayenne, the Château du Bois Thibault was erected in the 15th century on the remains of an old feudal castle which disappeared after the Hundred Years War. Listed as a Historic Monument, it is one of the most important castles in the barony of Mayenne.
Inhabited until the first half of the 19th century, it was bought by the municipality in the 1980s. Regularly the scene of events and treasure hunts open to the public, the Château du Bois Thibault can also be discovered at the summer season as part of free or guided tours.
It takes the form of a main building made up of two buildings at right angles flanked by two round towers, all served by an octagonal staircase tower.
