Things to see and do

In terms of the heritage and urban landscape, the village of Lansargues has retained a historic center with undeniable charm, with old alleys sometimes covered with porches, and several sites and buildings of interest.

This is the case of his church dedicated to Saint-Martin, of Romanesque origin, but which was very affected during the wars of religion. Rewormed summarily, it was enlarged to accommodate the faithful of the adjacent parishes (Gothic chapel north of the nave then chapel south, addition of stands). Ultimately the bishop of Montpellier ordered the edification of a new church in 1701. This was completed around 1740, in a classic style, the new bell tower sitting on the bases of the medieval bell tower. It should be noted that it became owned by the municipality only in 1970, inhabitants who collectively bought it back to the revolution. It houses a stone altarpiece and the Roman carved decor has been taken over the original building.

To be seen again, the town hall that has been daring on the basis of the former Baltard halls, the town hall place itself having been repeatedly reworked.

The old cooperative cellar, which was one of the most important in the region, also deserves a look, the second building inscribed in the inventory besides the church being the arenas: they were arranged in the early twentieth century In the very center of the village, after the sale of a house and its dependencies which included a rectangular courtyard. An oval trail, forums and lockers completed the equipment. Shaded, enclosed in the city, these arenas welcome spring bulls and traditional Camargue events in the autumn. Finally, still in terms of heritage, the picturesque huts located on the lands bordering the pond of gold exist since the 17th century. Remanied or rebuilt since then, these huts that were mainly used by fishermen are now places of accreditation or shelters dedicated to the hunters.

For pedestrian hikes, the plain south of the village and the surroundings of the pond are particularly pleasant. We can follow the banks of the canal that connected the village and the wineries to the pond, to transport the wine production, but also to discover the carpillon site, close to the canal, where walkers and fishermen are at the party around this Verdoyant water plane.
