In the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Midi-Pyrénées, Lannemezan is a town that is located on a plateau 600 meters above sea level. Old, the city would have, according to historians, about 26,000 years old. It is placed between Tarbes and Toulouse, on the Petite Baïse, and offers a crossroads of civilizations, inspired both traditions coming from the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. At about 70 kilometers from the Spanish border and situated right next to the border with the Haute-Garonne, Lannemezan is ideal for a holiday full of charm.
Boasting an exceptional rate of sunshine and a pleasant climate, the city attracts visitors passing also by its important heritage that allows us to appreciate the typical architecture of the region. Demonstrations, cultural and sports are offered throughout the year to animate the streets of the city center and highlight its traditions.

Well placed and boasting a landscape more enjoyable, Lannemezan offers its visitors passing an important heritage in which mix history and architecture.
Listed as a Historical Monument, St. John the Baptist church is a gothic building with a Roman nave of the nineteenth century, a portal of the thirteenth century, and an unfinished bell tower of the nineteenth century. Inside, one can admire two chandeliers Easter, an altarpiece and altar of the tabernacle, all classified as an historic monument since 1995.
Rich in green and leafy squares, the city of Lannemezan has many beautiful buildings and monuments in its streets. One can admire several monuments including Memorial, characteristic of the city, including a work by the Russian Bernarovitch Feinberg, and another dedicated to the couple Rothschild in 1921.
Archaeological remains have been found in the territory of the commune. T1 and T2 burial mounds dating from the Iron Age and the Bronze Age, were listed as an historic monument in 1971.
Lannemezan also has a very interesting environmental heritage. The city has indeed been ranked the most flowery city of the department ten years on, and several parks were installed. We appreciate walks in the woods of the Plantade, which benefited from a large rehabilitation program in the 2000s, or the many attractions of the amusement park of the Half Moon. The latter, large eighteen hectares of forest, consists of a lake, mini golf, paddle boats, or green space inhabited different species of exotic animals. In the park, statues and other figures telling the tales of Perrault were installed.
Also note the presence of Barbé castle, built by Benjamin Barbe, founder of the newspaper l'Abeille in Tarbes, the nineteenth century.
City Lannemezan knows a perpetual boil with cultural and sporting events offered throughout the year for residents and passing visitors.
The weekly market is held every Wednesday morning. Night markets are also offered in July and August with the presence of local artisans and producers in the region.
Every year in April, the city program's comedy festival, handsome and young and old. For the occasion, comedians, clowns and other specialists laughter present their shows.
For five days at the end of June, Lannemezan offers its festivals of Saint John that attract many visitors. Fireworks, concerts, dance events, or rides thrills and entertainment offered by the associations of the city are in the event program. Launched by the fire of Saint John, this annual celebration exchange area each year.
Since 2006, Lannemezan offers its annual festival theater in September. The event aims to encourage local establishment, offering entertainment for several days.
