Village of Ardèche, in the Auvergne - Rhône-Alpes region, Lalevade-d'Ardèche takes place about thirty kilometers from Privas, on the right bank of the Ardèche. The smallest town in the department, it is located not far from Prades, Pont-de-Labeaume and Vals-les-Bains.
Officially born on December 15, 1903, the municipality of Lalevade-d'Ardèche has however experienced an older occupation, particularly famous in the 19th century for its mining and industrial activity. Terminus of a railway line coming from Teil and passing through Aubenas until 1982, it then benefited from a significant economic boom.
Lalevade-d'Ardèche today enjoys a major tourist attraction because of its ZNIEFF classified areas.
